ONGOING PROJECT: Modular hospital Dr. Fran Mihaljević
Work is underway on the modular building of the Dr. Fran Mihaljević Clinic for Infectious Diseases, a project in which Gark Konzalting participates in the role of construction supervision. The start of the project took place in May of this year, and the contractors of the container modules are KOVA d.o.o. and Partner Electric d.o.o.
Certain shortcomings of the existing infrastructure were noticed during the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Zagreb earthquake, and for this reason, several planned construction interventions were initiated within the complex of the Clinic. Due to the aforementioned works, several hospital pavilions will be put out of service for several years. The construction of the Clinic's modular building is a solution that will prevent endangering the functionality of the hospital and the development of scientific and teaching work in the Clinic during that time. The project was approved by the Government of the Republic of Croatia and co-financed with the funds of the European Fund for Regional Development worth around 4,5 million euro.
The basic structure of a modular hospital is a set of industrially produced modules, designed for assembly, disassembly and relocation, so that after the need for a modular building within the hospital has ceased, it can be simply dismantled and stored in a suitable place or mounted elsewhere depending on the urgency and necessity.
Gark Konzalting, in the role of construction supervision, with our expertise and experience gained through similar projects, such as the construction of a business and commercial complex of container modules for the Center of New Life in Petrinja - first of its kind in Croatia, will bring this project to completion within the deadline and according to the highest quality principles, thus contributing to the renovation and improvement of Zagreb's healthcare system.
