2025 RECAP: Reliable and Responsible into New Challenges
Dear friends and associates,
the end of another successful year is an opportunity to look back on the results and successes achieved in the past 2025 - which was filled with significant projects and achievements for us. The following is a brief overview of what we have achieved and what awaits us in 2026.
This year, we continued another extremely successful business year, after an excellent 2024. The past 2025 was even more challenging for us than the previous one, but it also proved to be perhaps the most successful in our history. Our expert team gained new experience and knowledge, worked on improving skills and approach to work and adopting and developing new technologies for management, organization and management of investment projects.
With everything learned in the past year, we are ready to step into new challenges.
At the moment, we have two significant ones in tourism where we are engaged for large clients in the tasks of extended professional supervision of construction:
- Valamar Collection Pical Resort 5* for the client Valamar riviera d.d. in Poreč - as the largest investment in Croatian tourism - worth more than €200 million
(We emphasize that the Pical Collection Hotel Complex represents the most ambitious project in Croatian tourism. This premium resort includes the renovation and development of public tourist infrastructure such as promenades, bike paths, a beach and an indoor pool and will be the first in Croatia with an ESPA spa center.) - Marriott International 5* Hotel in Ičići - an investment worth more than €125 million
(The hotel includes the renovation of a 19th-century villa, the redirection of torrential watercourses from Učka mountain, the preservation of a valuable arboretum and existing horticulture, and the construction of a pedestrian walkway over the state road)
Simultaneously, part of our expert team in Zagreb is participating in the implementation of several significant projects in the role of project management, among which we highlight:
- Construction of the new central complex of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases "Dr. Fran Mihaljević" worth more than €240 million, gross area of more than 60,000 m2
- Structural reconstruction after the earthquake of the building of the Rectorate of the University of Zagreb and the Faculty of Law at Trg Republike Hrvatske 14, worth €28 million, gross area of more than 9,500 m2
Among other projects in which we participate, it is worth highlighting the expert supervision of the construction / reconstruction of several facilities at KBC Zagreb - the radiotherapy department at KBC Zagreb with one new bunker and a linear accelerator, and the reconstruction and adaptation of 2 bunkers for newly purchased linear accelerators, the construction of business halls, several residential buildings, and the reconstruction of a building damaged by an earthquake. During 2025, we successfully obtained several occupancy permits for our investors, which confirmed the precision of all procedures and the quality of construction on the projects in which we participated - such as the reconstruction of the LIDL store in Delnice, several facilities at KBC Zagreb, day hospitals within the Clinic for Infectious Diseases Fran Mihaljević, etc.
We also successfully led projects for the reconstruction of individual faculty buildings at the University of Zagreb: for FER - adaptation of the Martinovka SD, reconstruction of their faculty buildings and skyscrapers, and the reconstruction of Pavilion IV of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology. The value of all projects we are currently engaged in exceeds €700 million net (excluding VAT), which is the largest volume of work we have currently been carrying out in our company's history.
In addition to these projects, perhaps the most professionally demanding part of our business is related to the preparation of expert opinions - the preparation of various expert findings, opinions and analyses that we implement as court experts. In this regard, we have achieved notable results at the international level - in early 2025, a positive verdict was achieved for our foreign client by the Arbitration Court in London in an arbitration dispute worth tens of millions of euros for an unrealized investment in Croatian tourism on the Adriatic coast. With the very significant contribution of our professional work and our presentation/confrontation with the opposing party's legal team, which hired some of the world's best lawyers, we successfully defended our findings before arbitration judges in London in a very complex and demanding case on which we worked very extensively for 2 years.
In Croatia, in the past year, we have prepared more than ten very complex and demanding expert findings and opinions - various expert findings, analyses, expert assessments for various clients; the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia, Municipal and County Courts, state-owned companies as well as for large private clients in numerous complex and challenging judicial and extrajudicial cases. We highlight our participation in the expert team of court experts in the judicial evidence collection procedure conducted by the Municipal Court in Novi Zagreb in determining the causes of two slope collapses at the Prudine - Jakuševac municipal waste landfill in 2023.
We would like to emphasize that our engagement for private clients (excluding state bodies, judicial authorities, state-owned companies, universities, hospitals and other public bodies) amounts to more than 90% of our total financial operations, which we consider to be confirmation of our quality, professionalism and competitiveness, as well as our reputation in the market – we are in a very specific area of a small circle of significant clients, most of whom are foreign-owned, and who, when selecting their partners, primarily seek excellence in the profession – expertise, responsibility and professionalism in work (without the influence of politics, acquaintances and non-professional selection criteria).
In our professional work, we successfully develop and upgrade our GAP web application, which helps us to unify and easily exchange all important information and documents on the project – thereby constantly improving and modernizing all organizational processes on the project. We also use all other state-of-the-art software tools (Plan Radar, etc.), as well as modern ways of monitoring the progress of construction site dynamics (regular drone photo documentation, etc.).
We have managed to achieve all of the above thanks to the constant efforts of our engineers and all employees of our company, with constant great will, motivation and desire to acquire new professional knowledge and constant efforts to improve our work and the profession we are engaged in. To this end, we actively implement a policy of continuous professional development of our employees by organizing several interesting annual internal professional lectures in various areas of our activity, as well as by participating in professional lectures as listeners, but also as lecturers - our engineers regularly give professional lectures and presentations at the Days of the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers in Opatija.
We must not forget the importance and strength of our team, which is given to us by all our permanent partners and associates with whom we have been cooperating for many years, who together with us make up our recognizable approach to work and our "GARK standard" of work.
We would like to thank all our dear investors and clients for the trust they have shown, as well as all our partners and associates, and especially the employees who work in our professional team, exchange knowledge and experience with each other and are always there for each other. In our team, we have successfully combined the energy and motivation of young engineers with the experience and rich knowledge of experienced engineers.
