Construction of container settlement in Petrinja is completed
The settlement, which is intended for residents whose houses were damaged in the earthquake, has been completed.
We couldn't even imagine what would happen to us in the morning of December 29, 2020 when we arrived to Petrinja as HCPI volunteers. The strong earthquake that hit the Banovina area only encouraged us to unconditionally help Petrinja with our knowledge and experience.
Eighteen days after the beginning of the works on the container settlement in Sajmište (Petrinja), the first inhabitants moved in, and we needed only 38 days to provide 81 residential containers for 200 people. With this, Petrinja really got the "Center of New Life".
9.000 cubic meters of earth were removed from the construction site of the container settlement, more than 10.000 cubic meters of stone material were installed, more than seven kilometers of pipes and more than 4 kilometers of electrical installation cables were installed.
